Testing new enemies

Here you have the demo with wolves and roach. I've uploaded this demo with the new enemies to get your opinions and critics, so don't consider this as the regular game.

Windows
Linux
Mac

As long as it's a demo, you have extra gold and extra diary pages starting a new game. You can find the new enemies in the way to the white rat. Be carefull, because they are supposed to be level 4 enemies.

I finally implented the GA for the small roaches. Now I want your impressions about what is their skill exactly doing. And what do you think about it?

^_^

  1. Will you put it in Mediafire too ?
    Is it different from V0.379 ?

  2. I'm having some problems with MF. Any other site to upload it?

    The difference between this new version and the previous one is that I've implemented the GA in the small roaches.
    :)

  3. I saw you post on dirtyc101's game. Whattcha think?

  5. The small roaches get stuck sometimes, until you're able to move and lure them out. Other than that, and that problem with occasional slowdown, the rest of the game looks and feels good. The music is subtle, but you may want to add a volume control.

  6. The roaches stuck it's not casual.
    And the more you play, the more they do.
    xD

    About volume control, I have no idea about how to do it in flash.
    :S

  7. Well, looks like roaches are quite prolific in that realm.
    Anyway I got 4 levels for spending one minute with roach. Maybe giving 1xp for each small one is too generous?

  8. I can't load my game.

  9. Cuando aproximadamente estarás lanzando la versión full del juego?

  10. @Milten
    I agree with you. 1 XP seems too generous.

    @Anon
    It's a saved game from a previous version? They don't work in this version.

    @D-TROID
    Ni idea. Still lot of work to do...

  11. 1 xp is to generous for the roach as well as the level 4 wolves are to high i suggest level 3 wolves but only attack in packs of 2 or more. get an h scene
    that also shows something i love how much potential this game has.

  12. I haven't seen any GA attack yet... I've let them kill me 3 times. Is the GA a hentai move?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh, is the GA attack the multiplying roaches?

  14. @whjk
    I'm surelly give 0 XP to small roaches.
    The flanking skill of wolves make them divide to attack Beth by both sides, so it works for more than 2 wolves too.
    :)

    @Onyxdime
    It's something related with the fact that the more you play, the more the small roaches change their behaviour.
    xD

  15. =D So there IS a hentai scene in this update?

  16. Ahh, no worries. =)

    Sorry, misinterpreted your post.

  17. Well as others have mentioned, the small roaches A.I is a bit eh,"Herp dee derp" at times but with the quantity and damage they do, it's fine, but if your intending on players encountering it earlier then level 5+ they could have issues with that much DPS, I'd suggest making it a boss(such as a "Roach Queen")and having mid-sized ones off the same code for the spawns as mobs for the area. That or just reducing the number of spawns per wave and frequency.

    Wolf mobs hurt a LOT even fully armored they take a good chunck out of my hp bar even at level 7 in full shop armor, if they come in packs It'd hurt alot and provide some chalenge which is nice long as they aren't in too large a pack.

    As for the weapons:

    Dagger: Reach is far to short, in close range(I was touching the wolfs face, it was practically eating me out..),it wouldn't hit them but they could hit me...Speed is apparently on par with a kick which is nice cause often times kick is all that's needed.

    Axe: Damage is nice, range is nice, speed is slow. Everything I expect of the axe. love it.

    Wind/Wave Rune: Love being able to swap it out for the extra movement speed, it helps a lot in certain situations. (Wolves and roaches it's a life saver.)

  18. This is all really cool, but when will it be uploaded to Newgrounds? or are you making it a download? That would make me sad. :(

  19. @Bwwwaaarrr
    I've planned some future versions of the roach, like medium roaches that flanks Beth. xD
    A roach queen is a good idea to add.

    @Anon
    I prefer to upload just executables instead of flash files.

  20. I think that the game has improved greatly.
    Too bad that no additional H-Senes in it.
    A while ago I also read that the rats you slut-enhancing. I have not experienced in the game. I have done something wrong?

    the message is translated by google translator.

  21. Ah, sounds like the grounds for a new area, looking forward to it as usual, and as usual thanks for all the hard work! I've been playing around with it since your blog popped up, that and all the various sites it was linked too. So far explored basically everything i could find and as much as i like the H-content, I'm enjoying all the story(especially the ability to change your characters appearance and starting attributes instead of the old cookie-cutter damage/armor/magic and W/E)/Monster/Beast expansions just as much!

  22. Hi H NYarly
    I dont know why, but I never could download by "deposit files". The link does not start the countdown for download. So I´ve asked you about mediafire, but the other download sites is also ok to for me, except DF...
    I´ve test the game in an i5 machine and for my surprise, it runs really fast. Can easilly move, kill enemies, and the presence of 2 wolfs and the roach at the same screen did not make the game slow down. So its good news for you and bad news for me, as now I realize my core2duo seems obsolete...

  23. Please update the "Play Game" section of this blog.

  24. @CB
    For the momment, there are no H-events with rats.

    @Bwwwaaarrr
    I hope to give you more world to explore. ^_^

    @Brasilian Guy
    Here you have it:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?9fzlxvvpxkhcvwp
    I'm actually working with a core2duo. And for me it works fine, with a slight slow dowm with the spawm of roaches.
    Anyway don't worry. I'll try to improve the game speed.

    @Anon
    Some time ago, I started to prefer uploading executables instead of flash files. The main reasons are:
    - To avoid cheating.
    - Exes have less problems for some players (mainly with arrow keys movement).

    But as you pointed, I should change the "Play Game" section (at least with the download links). But no for the momment. Until now I've just linked demo versions that don't really deserve an official release.

    And now, I must go back top work to finish another 5%...

  25. Great HNyarly. Thanks
    I´ll exercite this version and wait for the next

  26. Just a question for all the testers: Do you think that, the more you play, the more damage small roaches deal?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I always thought most animals dealt less damage as you leveled up, for example the rats.

    However, the small roaches seem to deal normal amounts of damage always. Maybe their increased damage is offset by the increasing defence of Beth at higher levels?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Not exactly.
    The only way Beth can reduce damage is by armour. So, damage reduction doesn't depend of level.

    But, Beth HP = 3 + 3*level, so the more level she has, the less (proportional to her life) damage she takes from the same enemy.

    Small roaches are level 1. But, as you discovered, they have a special skill named "piercing damage" that allows them to ignore Beth's armour. Anyway, they only deal 1 damage.
    xD

  29. I don't know if anyone noticed this bug yet but when you press ''a'' or ''z'' the Beth ''still'' animation restart (that's realy not important)
    BUT
    It does also restart the ''countdown'' between each time the yellow (horny) bar goes down. In other words, by continiously pressing ''a'' or ''z'', it's possible to keep the yellow bar at the maximum.

    ReplyDelete
  30. @Avasam0612
    Well job as bug finder. The yellow bar bug is due to the fact that horney stat decrease is set in the last walking animation. So, if you restart the walking animation, it doesn't decrease.
    :)
